NON-SCIENTIFIC COMPETITIONS

 

DESCRIPTION

As medicine is intertwined with art in a complex and evolving way, so does the study of pathology, therefore this year annual scientific meeting is held with a series of non-scientific competitions to channel those artistic hidden talents dwelling among residents and pathologist, which includes video contest, group singing contest, batik design competition, and microscopic snapshot competition.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PARTICIPANT

  1. Participants are anatomical pathologist residents/medical specialists.
  2. Participants may enter as an individual or in a group/team.
  3. Participants must be registered as participants in the PIT event.

TIME OF COMPETITION

  1. Deadline for registration and upload: July 30th, 2022; 23:59 WIB
  2. Selection by committee: August 1st–15th, 2022
  3. Jury’s evaluation: August 27th, 2022 – September 2nd, 2022
  4. Vote for favorite video/group/design/photo by PIT participants: September 2nd, 2022
  5. Announcement of winners: September 3rd, 2022

 

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. VIDEO CONTEST

Theme

“Advancement in anatomical pathology services”

Video duration and content

  • Video can be in the form of a short movie, vlog, music video, parody, documentary, or any other form of video.
  • Video must be submitted in .mp4 or .mov format.
  • The minimal video resolution is 1280x720 pixels.
  • Video duration must not exceed 3 minutes.
  • Participants may submit more than one video.
  • The submitted video must be original personal/group work and the participant must be fully responsible for the submitted work.

Video uploading guideline

  • The video should be uploaded to the participant’s YouTube account and the video link should be to the competition link provided in the email after participants’ registration.
  • The committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant's video before and after the judging process if they are deemed to not meet the requirements.
  • Participants are deemed to have agreed to all the terms set out for the submitted video.

Assessment criteria

  • Compatibility with the form of video chosen (short movie, vlog, documentary, etc.);
  • Adherence to the theme;
  • Angle, moment, lighting;
  • Creativity.
  • The main winner and top 5 videos will be determined by the jury.
  • The favorite winner will be determined based on the votes from the PIT participants. Every PIT participant has two voting rights to choose the favorite video.
  • The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.

Winner Prize

  • The main winner will get Rp1,500,000
  • The favorite winner will get Rp1,000,000
  • The top 5 video content winners will each get Rp750,000

 

2. GROUP SINGING CONTEST

Rules

  • Each participant uploads a choir audio-visual recording video.
  • Each participant can only submit one video.
  • A vocal group or group band must consist of at least four people.
  • Participants must perform the mandatory song “Heal the World – Michael Jackson” and a free folk song (one folk song or a folk song medley).
  • Participants are given the freedom to perform the song in its entirety or as snippets and add creations with choreography and/or properties.
  • Music can be downloaded from the internet or using participants’ musical instruments and arrangements.
  • The recording of mandatory song and folk song is made in 1 video in mp4 format with HD 720p resolution, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes.
  • Video can be recorded using a mobile phone camera or a digital camera in landscape format.
  • Video must not offend any ethnicity, religion, race, or culture nor violate social and legal norms
  • The submitted video must be original personal/group work and the participant must be fully responsible for the submitted work.

  • Video is uploaded to the participant’s YouTube account and the video link is attached to the competition link provided in the email after participants’ registration.
  • The committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant's video before and after the judging process if they are deemed to not meet the requirements.
  • Participants are deemed to have agreed to all the terms set out for the submitted video.

Assessment criteria

  • Audio assessment includes composition of vocal group or band (beauty of voice, vocal arrangement) and music composition
  • Video assessment includes video aesthetics (location, lighting, uniqueness, transition) and the singer’s performance.
  • Assessment of transition arrangement from mandatory song to selected song.
  • The top 3 winners will be determined by the jury.
  • The favorite winner will be determined based on the votes from the PIT participants. Every PIT participant has two voting rights to choose the favorite group.
  • The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.

Winner Prize

  • The first winner will get Rp1,000,000
  • The second winner will get Rp750,000,-
  • The third winner will get Rp500,000
  • The favorite winner will get Rp750,000,-

 

3. BATIK DESIGN COMPETITION

Theme

“Art in Pathology”

Rules

  • Batik design represents Anatomic Pathology, unique, must not offend any ethnicity, religion, race, culture, nor contain pornography, provocation, and/or radicalism.
  • Batik logo design must not contain plagiarism, duplication, falsification, or fabrication from other people’s batik designs.
  • Batik logo design must not have been published nor contested in any competition
  • Participant may submit more than one design.
  • Design submitted in the form of hand-drawn work or computer graphics in .png or .jpg format.
  • Participants should attach a description, philosophy, and explanation regarding the design submitted, typed in A4 paper format with Times New Roman font size 12 and 1.5 spacing.

Design uploading guideline

  • Design is submitted via the link provided in the email after participants’ registration.
  • The committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant's designs before and after the judging process if they are deemed to not meet the requirements.
  • Participants are deemed to have agreed to all the terms set out for the submitted design.

4. MICROSCOPIC SNAPSHOT COMPETITION

Theme

“From Tiny to Funny – Art Under the Microscope”

Photo content

  • The photo can be in the form of cytology, histopathology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and/or immunofluorescence photos.
  • Photo format for the competition must be in the form of .jpg or .png with a minimum resolution of 1280x720 pixels.
  • Participant may submit more than one photo.
  • Photo submitted must be an original personal/group work and participants must be fully responsible for the submitted work.
  • Participants should attach a description and explanation regarding the photo submitted, typed in A4 paper format with Times New Roman font size 12 and 1.5 spacing.
  • Participants are required to include several photo clips with a total magnification of 40x, 100x, and 400x in the form of PowerPoint slides as supporting evidence of ownership of the preparations entered in the competition.

COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP

Video/design/photo submitted will become the property of the committee and can be freely used in Anatomic Pathology activities while still giving the creator credits.
